UNESCO CHAIR

The ARJ Program is located at the Hildesheim UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policy for the Arts in Development at the Department of Cultural Policy. This forms part of Germany’s oldest cultural management course, which for 35 years has been educating future intermediaries between the arts and society.

Freedom of artistic expression is part of the UNESCO Chair’s three main areas of focus: ‘Cultural Governance’, ‘Arts Education’ and ‘Artists in Relation to Society’. These examine socio-political transformation via the cultural sphere by means of research, teaching and an observatory.
